This website is owned and operated by Nibblr Ltd. This privacy policy explains how Nibblr uses personal information collected via this site. We are committed to protecting your privacy and take all reasonable precautions to safeguard personal information.
This service is intended for users aged 18 and over.
When you register for Nibblr, we collect your name and email address. This is required to create and manage your account.
When you use Nibblr to build recipes, upload ingredients, or generate nutrition labels, we store that data in your account. This may include product ingredient lists, nutritional values, recipe formulations, and other commercially sensitive information. We treat all submissions as confidential and only use them to provide the service.
If you upload ingredient specification sheets (PDFs or images), these files are stored on our servers. To extract nutrition and allergen data, uploaded files are sent to Anthropic (our AI processing provider) for analysis. No personal identifiers are included in these requests. Uploaded files are retained until you delete them from your account.
We may ask you for feedback on Nibblr or invite you to participate in surveys. We may also contact you directly for additional feedback or to participate in trials.
You retain full ownership of all recipes, ingredient specifications, formulations, and other content you upload to or create within Nibblr. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
We will not share your recipes, ingredient specifications, or formulation data with any third party unless you give us explicit permission to do so. The only exception is the limited processing described in this policy (for example, sending uploaded spec sheets to our AI provider for data extraction, where no identifying information is included).
If you close your account, you may export your data beforehand. Upon account closure, your content will be deleted in accordance with the retention periods described in this policy.
We use your details to provide access to Nibblr, manage your account, and communicate service updates. Our legal basis for this processing is that it is necessary to deliver the service you have signed up for (performance of a contract).
We use your submitted recipes, ingredients, and product specifications solely to deliver the Nibblr service to you: calculating nutrition, checking compliance, generating labels, and providing AI-assisted analysis. Your data is reviewed only by our internal team where necessary (for example, during nutritionist review of ingredient data). We do not share your formulation data outside of Nibblr or use it for any other purpose. Our legal basis is performance of a contract.
To provide features such as ingredient data extraction and semantic search, we use the following third-party AI services:
Both providers process data in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards for these international transfers. Neither provider retains your data beyond the immediate processing of each request. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in providing core service functionality.
On our public marketing pages we use two analytics services to understand how the site is used and which pages are useful:
_ga, _ga_*)._clck, _clsk, MUID, and related Microsoft cookies). Both services are loaded only after you accept analytics cookies via the on-site consent banner. Until you accept, no analytics scripts run and no analytics cookies are set on your device. Our legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the “Cookies” link in the footer of any public page. Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
We maintain an internal audit log of changes made to recipes and ingredients for data integrity and compliance purposes. These logs include a snapshot of what changed and who made the change. Audit logs are retained indefinitely to support regulatory compliance and data versioning. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in maintaining data integrity.
If you provide feedback or complete a survey, we use this information to improve Nibblr. Our legal basis is legitimate interest.
We may also use your information to analyse and improve our services, customise content to your preferences, notify you of relevant updates, prevent fraud, and protect users. Wherever possible, we anonymise or minimise the data retained for analysis purposes.
Please ensure that the details you provide are accurate and up to date. If you provide information about someone else, please make sure you have their consent first.
Once you sign in to Nibblr, the only cookie we set is a single essential session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is encrypted, contains no personal information, and expires after 7 days. No analytics or advertising cookies run on the signed-in app surface.
On our public marketing pages (home, FAQ, methodology, trust, privacy, terms and similar), we offer two analytics services described in section 3 above (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity). These set non-essential first-party and third-party cookies.
We do not load either service or set any of their cookies until you press “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you press “Reject”, or have not yet made a choice, no analytics scripts run and no analytics cookies are set on your device. You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookies” link in the footer of any public page; we re-prompt at least every 6 months in line with ICO guidance.
If you previously accepted and then later withdraw consent or press “Reject”, we immediately delete every analytics cookie we are technically able to delete from this site (the Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* cookies, and the Microsoft Clarity _clck / _clsk cookies) and stop loading the scripts for any future page. Microsoft Clarity also sets a small number of third-party cookies on Microsoft-owned domains (MUID, ANONCHK, CLID, MR, SM) that we cannot delete from your browser remotely. Withdrawal stops further data collection, but to remove those existing cookies you would need to clear cookies for clarity.ms and bing.com in your browser settings.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies for ad targeting on either surface.
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.
Your recipes, ingredients, and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to close your account and have your personal data removed, please contact us at privacy@nibblr.co.uk. We will remove your personal data within 30 days of your request.
Change history and audit logs are retained indefinitely for compliance and data integrity purposes. These logs may be anonymised where possible.
We keep records of consent, and any withdrawal of consent, on file for as long as we use your data in line with that consent and for 6 years afterwards.
If you subscribe to our newsletter on the website, we pass your email address to MailerLite (operated by MailerLite Limited) to deliver the newsletter on our behalf. Your email is stored on MailerLite's EU-hosted infrastructure. No recipe, ingredient, or account data is sent to MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter email, or by contacting privacy@nibblr.co.uk. Our legal basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We may from time to time send you updates about Nibblr and request feedback. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at privacy@nibblr.co.uk.
We share data with the following categories of third party, solely to operate the service:
We do not sell your data. We do not share your recipes, formulations, or ingredient data with any other users, companies, or third parties unless you give us explicit written permission.
We take steps to protect your personal information and minimise unauthorised access. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Session cookies are encrypted with AES-128. If you have an account, please keep your password secure and do not share it.
